in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand between 30th November & 2nd December 2017.

Sunshine Coast stars Tiarnee Massie (Maroochydore) and Electra Outram (Noosa Heads) will head the team following strong Aussies campaigns where both competitors took home three medals each.

They will be joined by Manly duo Emily Doyle and Naomi Scott. Scott will also travel to Japan later in June to compete at the Sanyo Bussan Cup with nine members of the Open Australian Life Saving Team.

Following very successful 2017 seasons Alex Rampoldi (North Cronulla) and Keeley Booth (Avoca Beach) round out a spectacular group of girls to travel across the Mt. Maunganui.

Elouera standouts Chris King and Jake Evans both sealed their place in the squad after teaming up for two gold medals at this year’s Aussies, including victory in the U17 Male Taplin taking gold ahead of Byron Turton (Maroochydore). Turton got his revenge in the U17 Ski Relay taking out the gold medal as part of Maroochydore’s team.

Ky Kinsela (Currumbin) and Mitchell Coombes (BMD Northcliffe) will represent the Gold Coast while Jamee Smith (Wanda) joins Rampoldi as a Sydney Branch duo on the sand.

Australian Youth Life Saving Team Head Coach Brett Dowker said it will be an exciting first international tour representing Australia for most of the team.

I’m excited about the new mix of this Youth Team and the balance that the team will have across all events,” he said.

I am looking forward to seeing who out of this Surf Team steps up and shows us what they have got against the other International Youth Teams, leading into another World Championships next year.

I would expect over half of this team to carry through with us to Adelaide next year given that they can not only perform in the ocean, but are also very consistent in the pool.

The thing that I like most about our Team is that they are all eligible for the World Championships next year [having a DOB Year 2000 or younger], and that they are multidiscipline so that we can play around with a few different combinations across the three Test Series.”

Selectors for the Australian Life Saving Team will name Open Team for International Surf Rescue Challenge in August later this year.
