Dates: Sunday 27th & Sunday 11th
Time: Arrive 9am
Online Test: http://www.lsv-from-anywhere.com.au/sm/login.php

It's time we talk about what you need to do for requal this season. Each club in our district will have two requal dates which gives you at least six opportunities around Gippsland to do you requal, meaning Lakes will only have two, and only two will be ran.

Dates for Lakes Entrance can be found on the Lakes Entrance Club Calendar

Just like last year you will be able to complete the theory component online via http://www.lsv-from-anywhere.com.au/sm/login.php and bring in the printed certificate as proof, this is the preferred method. Hard-copies of the papers are available by request on the day. Other club's dates can be found on the website calendar (link above). Current club Assessors are asked to have this morning free to help with assessing of the awards if possible.

    • Proficient Bronze Medallion
    • Proficient IRB Crewperson

  • RWC Operator
    • Proficient Bronze Medallion
    • Additional State/Territory pre-requisites

The National Board of Lifesaving agreed that not all crewperson and/or drivers necessarily need to demonstrate skills in a “one off” proficiency test and that many may be seen as proficient via demonstration of competency during operational activities. Proficiency of crewperson and/or drivers of craft may be able to be assessed in numerous ways such as through the use of log books and club/service powercraft officer recommendation.

It is possible for IRB/RWC drivers to incorporate their proficiency check during Bronze Medallion checks so long as there is an IRB assessor/RWC facilitator in attendance. Drivers may also wish to do their drivers proficiency at an organised IRB crew proficiency for the same reason.

  1. Questions on safety and the SLSA Powercraft Code of Conduct

  2. Demonstrate effective and safe crewing practice and ability including but not limited to

This award should then be entered into SurfGuard as a new award using the Form 14.

  1. ATV Operators must hold a current, valid state driver’s license. A member who loses their state driver’s license (whether through cancellation or suspension) is considered to be non-proficient in this award. Once the member’s state driver’s license is reinstated, they are then required to resit the ATV Operator proficiency.

  2. Clubs should also conduct a proficiency check consisting of:
    1. Pre-post operational checks
    2. Driving assessment with oral questioning on safety precautions, etc
    3. The new ATV Operators Award Workbook should be provided to operators for reference and may be  used as a tool to assist with proficiency checking.
